"Jaci's math"
Assignment Goals:
Ms. Marsh, my Geometry teacher, has assigned us to make a mini poster on a clean, white sheet of bond paper. We were to come up with creative ways to project the words: "_studentname_'s Math" (although the wording for others may vary), using the list of different kinds of points, lines, angles, planes, and such to make up the words. After doing so, it was required to put a legend to label [by color code] where and what each listed item was.
Why I want to show this work:
I like talking about this project, although required to use this specific project as a work sample, because it was one of the things I am proud of, since I was able to push my creativity to its limits all while using all the listed items, forming the words out of those items, and making the overall product easy on the eye.
21st century skills:
Throughout the project, we were simply given the amount of time for the project and its criteria which, in this case, was quite hard for me to follow, and is further explained in the next section. Through all the difficulties in this assignment, it was essential to utilize my III. Thinking & Problem Solving Skills to be able to even fit in all the different lines, rays, angles, and planes into two words, while still maintaining a beautiful imagery to look upon.
New Growth:
What was most dificult about this project, was about how to use the list of items (e.g. points, line segments, rays, acute angles, right angles, planes, the use of perpendicularity, etc.) and integrate it into words, while still displaying it beautifully. I do believe, however, is that I could have been less stressed when I was trying to accomplish what I have just previously mentioned (as I do get stressed fairly easily). Other than that, I don't think I would change my poster from what it already is, as I am already satisfied with the outcome. Throughout the making of this project, I was reminded of how I learned of all these in Geometry back in grade school, and am glad that I was able to have a quick recap on this, to not just familiarize it, but know it by heart (basically) so that I may even be able to use these basic terms in the future in my job, or some other. (Lines, Planes, Angles... They're EVERYWHERE!)
