Assignment Goals:
This was a fun project for me (although worked on it until 3 or 4am), where we chose a Spanish-speaking country to "travel" to and present at least three cultural sites, foods, common phrases, and music that we would see and hear in that country. We also had to account for the expenses of the entire trip, including our plane ticket, the hotel we would be staying at, local transportation fees, meal cost, etc. We were also allowed to go to other places, do what we wanted to do, and spend however much within the $10,000 budget allotted to us (although I only ended up using about $5,000).
Why I want to show this work:
I liked this project where we could [virtually] travel to another country and see the different places there. It is also rare to have a project concerning finances at our grade level from what I know, so I thought it was one of the other things that stood out among the projects and assignments we did in school.
21st century skills:
Like I mentioned previously, this project also includes financing for the "virtual trip" which is where I apply the VII. FINANCIAL, ECONOMIC, AND BUSINESS LITERACY where I use what knowledge I have to budget the trip project in managing the finances.
Current Growth:
Researching the information I needed to put into this project reminded me of the different aspects one's country can have and how they, although sometimes similar, are unique from the rest of the world. It has also enabled me to practice budgeting which I actually have never done in the way I needed to do for this project.
New Growth:
I want to improve on time management, presenting well, and not over-doing future projects (which will make it look too much).
