Assignment Goals:
In this Comic Book Project, we were given a couple of different layouts we could use (of course, we can also make our own outline) to fill them with a storyline that is fun to read along, but also conveys the requirements of having the definition and two examples (each) of what physical change and chemical change is and looks. The definitions and examples are to be shown in a manner that still fits with the story, shows panels of each happening, and dialogues as well to be able to have the final product as a comic strip/book!
Why I want to show this work:
I chose this work sample because I was able to challenge myself to work with assignments that were more artsy and creative in thinking (while still including the science of it of course) to further improve, as those are the areas I find the most difficult while completing this project.
21st century skills:
In this project, there were many things that had to be done: think of a suitable, creative story to tell, think of how to incorporate have physical and chemical changes into the plotline, further plan out how to draw the outline of what I want to be displayed, and finally drawing and coloring the life into the comic. Like other projects, we were presented of what we needed to accomplish by a certain date, and have it done by then; but if I wanted to have all these listed things done before then, I would need to use V. Self Directional Skills to do it all. It was through this project, that I was even able to further improve this 21st Century Skill and put it into practice and wisely make great use of the time given to us students and efficient finish on time!
It was also around this time where I had kind of a mental block, where I couldn't focus enough to do work in school, so using my self directional skills really came in handy when I was at home, so that I could make sure that I did the necessary work instead of just sleeping or playing games to be productive enough to finish this project.

New Growth:
Like I said previously, I was able to practice and improve (even if just slightly) on my artistic side of things, as well as being self directional. But if I could really start over, I would probably try harder to make a better comic (as I was called out on not making multiple pages), the explanation in the science of the story, and just the overall art style.
Having done this project reminds me of when I was learning the different states matter could take and could change into (solid, liquid, and air); learning about this topic further expanded on that past knowledge, and taught me now, more than ever, that I need to always be extra careful of the chemical changes that may or are happening around me now and in the future.
