Assignment Goals:
This was meant to be a very fun, creative, interesting, safe, and doable project to swing us away from our computers (which I personally stare at for at least 8 hours every school day. In the beginning, we were introduced to Instructables, a website where its users can create and upload DIY projects, or simply follow what others had done with listed materials, step-by-step instructions and pictures of the process and the final product. We were tasked to find a project we found interesting, safe, and doable in two weeks time. This was a hands-on project to really get working and even improvising when we didn't have the materials and whatnot. We were also required to document the entire process by taking pictures, putting it onto multiple slideshows, and answer questions made by the teacher, such as "what did you do in this stage of work?", "what tools and/or methods did you use?", "what challenges did you overcome?", "what challenges are you facing?", etc.
Why I want to show this work:
I would like to thank my teacher, Mr. Hazlet, for being so concerned about us and gave us projects he thought would be good for us, especially during this time in the pandemic when we had most of our time on our computers, and to just have fun in the making of this project!
21st century skills:
It was here, where I had to use lll. Thinking and Problem Solving skills to find a project that filled all the criteria: interesting, safe, and doable. It was a little hard at first, because I'm not interested in many things, and I have very limited resources to use as my materials (which was my main concern upon starting this project), but thankfully I was able to find one that fit all of the given requirements, and it was a blast to make my cardboard gramophone speaker despite not being entirely functional.
Current Growth:
I was able to do something with my own two hands by myself. Usually when we have a hands-on project, I'm always overseen by someone who tells me what to do or in a group that I just help a little with, as I don't have much experience in that aspect. So I am happy that I was able to produce something on my own, even if it only looks passable. I was also able to fix some parts of cutouts (I had to add pieces of cardboard to it, because the part was too short) and make the best of the situation.
New Growth:
I want to improve on time management, as I did most of the major work just two days before the actual submitting of my project, better plan (and actually execute) what and how I'm going to do things, to improvise better in situations that go wrong, and work on being more creative, to make the presentation look better.
Compilation of multiple slideshows of entire process:
