Assignment Goals:
As juniors, we are to create a project that would help the community. And to ensure that we are on task throughout the months, we make a slideshow that shows our weekly progress. Right before the first quarter ended, each project’s members (whether they’re individual or pairs) presented what they’ve accomplished so far to their respective classes.
Why I want to show this work:
I’m proud that I was able to go through with it at all, because my junior project was just a mess at the start since I didn’t know what to do for a junior project. So I’m glad it all worked out.
21st century skills:
I was able to use II. Communication Skills when I successfully presented what my project was, what my vision and goals were and what I’ve done so far regarding my junior project. When I first presented the updates on my project, I realized that it wasn’t as easy to present as last year (maybe because it’s been a while and I had more classes last year). But even so, this only helps motivate me to practice and be a better presenter, more specifically in front of unfamiliar people.
New Growth:
Just having enough “substance” to have a semester’s worth of work was (and still is) hard to come up with, especially with others who have such big, impactful projects. But then again, everyone is doing something different so I should just focus on making mine the best it could be. But, if I could change anything, I would have thought through more on what I want to do as a junior project. What kind of things I vouch for? What am I able to do but still challenges me? Will it be rigorous enough? Can I complete it before the semester ends?
I am reminded that I need to really plan ahead and think things through instead of just diving into something and hoping for the best, which I regretfully have done for this project and am suffering for. For my new project, I will truly go above and beyond to think and brainstorm ways I can help people through this project instead of just going for the easy route.
