Assignment Goals:
For Ms. Shirkhodai’s Algebra II class, we took our first unit test on Equations & Inequalities. The 5-page test included questions based on previous lessons (Real Numbers & Properties, Expressions & Operations, Solving Equations, Absolute Value Equations, Multi-Step & Compound Inequalities, and Absolute Value Inequalities), which was also a review of what we should have learned from Geometry & Algebra I.
Why I want to show this work:
I’m proud that I got an A+ on this test (44/45) as I don’t often get this high of a grade in Ms. Shirkhodai’s classes. She makes tests a little more challenging than others which all the more pushes us to excellence: to learn, know, and understand her lessons like the back of our hand. Other than changing the one question I got wrong, I’m happy with the way I did everything and wouldn’t change a thing!
21st century skills:
I believe this addresses V. Self-Directional Skills as I had to understand and monitor myself, making sure I understood what needed to be learned and set goals to learn what I couldn’t understand. I always made sure I was on top of things, directed myself well during and after lessons, and reviewed even more later on to ensure that I would do well on the Unit 1 Test.
New Growth:
Though most of the lessons were review, there were some that were new, so it took me a while to process the new information to be able to apply it to homeworks and the test. For future tests, I will be sure to triple-check, maybe even quadruple-check all of my answers if I can before handing in my test papers.
