Assignment Goals:
Among a few others, I've had little to no experience with any CAD designing, much more Onshape designing. It was the last month or so of school left, and it was decided that we should go out with a bang, and so we started to learn a thing or two about creating designs on Onshape via step-by-step Youtube tutorials, provided by the teacher. Our project's goal was to create at least one of those few designs from the tutorials we found interesting to our own individual tastes and create that design. We were also given a choice, to look for our own tutorial to follow and create that design after being approved.
Why I want to show this work:
I was so proud to be able to have made something with Onshape! I was taught Onshape last year, in 8th grade, but I couldn't really grasp the concept of digitally designing, and got stressed from just seeing the software, and would steer away from CAD anytime possible. With tutorials to be able to follow along to however, was easier for me to understand, and I was able to pick up what some different tools were, and how I could use it along the way of following it, and it actually worked in the end! That was a huge leap in progress for me, concerning being able to use and understand using CAD software and design.
21st century skills:
As this is digital designing, I broadened my l. Information Skills to learn, process, and apply new relevant computer and handheld technology: CAD software/Onshape.
Current Growth:
I was able to learn something new, overcome my strong dislike for most things technology (due to its complexity, which usually overwhelms me before I can learn), create a functioning design, even if it's with the help of a tutorial, and finish the project in due time without delay.
New Growth:
I want to hopefully learn and improve more on 3-D designing, exploring, and utilizing Onshape and perhaps even other CAD software. I could also learn to be more open to things like CAD, so that I don't miss out on opportunities that involve these kinds of technology, which I could have known more about.
